Cape Town Carnival

More than 70 000 excited spectators flocked to #lovecapetown’s fanwalk in Green Point on Saturday 15 March, 2014 for the fifth annual Cape Town Carnival.  This year’s event was themed “Imagine” and imagine is what the designers did.  From the breath-taking Tsogo Sun “African Dream Doll” float to Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA)‘s stunning miniature plane and its accompanying flamenco dancers,  and the astonishing lifelike Protea flower which opened and closed mechanically, the procession was truly a feast for the eyes.

Tsogo Sun is the official accommodation partner to the Cape Town Carnival.  Commenting on this partnership, Tsogo Sun’s Operations Director, John van Rooyen says:

“It’s extremely exciting for Tsogo Sun to be involved in this year’s Carnival.  While the event only started in 2010, we see that it has huge potential going forward to attract tourists annually to Cape Town. We share the same agenda and that is to try and make the city an even better destination than it already is.”

Here are some beautiful photos taken of the evening.
