Tsogo Sun’s boutique Rosebank hotel, 54 on Bath was honoured to host food and TV personality Sarah Graham for an elegant high tea to celebrate her award-winning cookbook and the launch of her TV show, Sarah Graham Food Safari, in the US. Home, Sarah Graham’s most recent cookbook, recently won the award for best African Cuisine Book in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2015.
The terrace of 54 on Bath’s Level Four Restaurant played host to Joburg’s media and foodie personalities for a summer tea party to celebrate Sarah’s recent achievements.
The decadent afternoon tea showcased 54 on Bath’s High Tea offering with some of the finest TWG Teas from across the globe, including the first black tea in history – Lapsang Souchong, sourced from China and Taiwan.
Guests dined in opulent indulgence with wonderfully exciting tea blends combined with luxurious treats. The high tea feast included a variety of freshly made breads with elegant fillings, traditional scones with clotted cream and delightful mini-mousses and cakes. It was a scrumptious affair with media guests spoilt for choice with 54 on Bath’s high tea spread.
Sarah presented a signed copy of her latest cookbook to Catia Veigas, General Manager at 54 on Bath, which will be showcased along with other books from the hotel’s collection.
Addressing the guests, Sarah shared her journey from food blogger to cookbook author and TV personality.
“In Swahili, the beautiful lilting language that is native to parts of East Africa, safari means ‘journey’. And I love that I have had the privilege of seeing so much of our continent, and the picture it has given me of our food heritage in Africa being such a melting pot of colour and character. I love coming home. I love sharing the ideas and inspirations that are gathered along the way.” – Sarah Graham
Sarah further announced that a fourth cookbook is in the works, as well as a new season of her TV show. It was such a pleasure hosting Sarah Graham, we can’t wait for her new cookbook!
